What we've all been waiting for... Here's a sample of a chapter of the book, enjoy :)
Sunlight blasted through the curtains, momentarily blinding
me. Trying to open my eyes hurt like hell. The light seemed to burn my retinas
as I struggled to keep them open. My head felt filled with helium and detached
from my body. Sitting up, nausea hit me instantaneously. I lay down to keep the
room from spinning. Someone moaned next to me in the bed and moved around,
which caused the nausea to increase.
Putting my hand up to shield the light from my eyes, I saw
that it was Nico in bed with me. He shifted again, trying to get comfortable by
moving to his side. The covers fell to his waist, revealing his shirtless
torso. Turning over, I sat up gingerly, placing both feet on the floor. The
contents of my stomach settled as I stood. I fumbled to the restroom to relieve
my bladder.
I reached for the toilet paper and found air. I looked
around the bathroom and it was unfamiliar. Where the hell was I? Trying to
recall the events of last night made my head hurt worst. I have never been this
hung over in my life. I still felt buzzed. I found toilet paper underneath the
counter and noticed something peculiar. After cleaning up, I stumbled back to the
bed. Nico pulled me closer, his morning wood pressed firmly into my backside.
We have spooned in bed before, but this time felt different.
My brain felt foggy and it took a moment to connect the missing pieces. He
pulled me closer and threw his right thigh over mine and tightened the grip of
his arm around my waist. I couldn't remember what my original train of thought
was as my body wanted to go back to sleep. The sheets in this bed were a dream,
I wonder what thread count they were. They were cool and soft against my skin,
like a cloud. After I get more sleep, I'll try to find out later. Mmm, sleep.
Nico shifted again, his groin pressed deeper into my ass and
jerked. That was a different sensation. Hold up, I'm not wearing any clothes.
Neither is Nico. Shit, where are my fucking clothes? I bolted upright, covers
flying. I rolled and tumbled out of bed onto my ass with a loud thump. Nico sat
up and crawled over to my side of the bed. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he
asked, “Are you okay Legs? Do you need help up?”
“Nico, where are we?” I looked around what appears to be a
hotel room. Nico sat back on his haunches, either unknowingly or unashamed to
display his morning wood that stood tall and proud. “Legs come back to bed. I'm
still sleepy baby. Let's talk later.” He laid down, pulling the covers up to
his waist and patted the bed next to him.
“Come on Legs, you know I need my cuddle buddy.” He mumbled.
He patted the empty side of the bed again that I vacated and laid back down
while yawning. “Come on Legs, we just went to bed a few hours ago.” He rolled
over. I glimpsed a new tattoo on the upper left side of his back. Oh shit, it
was my name. When did he do that? “When did you get a tattoo of my name?”
“Baby, you ask too many questions in the morning. Come to
bed.” He absently patted the bed and rolled back over for me to get an
unobstructed view of the tattoo. I eased into the bed, to not jar the contents
of my stomach or make the dull ache in my head worst. I inched closer to look
at the tattoo. It was new and began to scab over in parts of the tattoo. The
font was unique with its bold lines, swirls and curvature.
I looked down at my hand, noticing a twinkling of metal. I
looked at the simple gold band on my finger and flipped the fuck out. My scream
caused Nico to bolt upright and put a hand over my mouth to muffle the screams.
“Legs, I swear it’s too early for this.” He looked at the alarm clock on the
nightstand. “It is nine o' clock and we just went to sleep at five. Please, give me another hour babe. I
just want to sleep this hangover away. Okay?”
I shook my head and he removed his hand cautiously. “But
Nico...”
He cut me off by kissing my lips. He pulled me closer and
drifted off to sleep. After a few minutes, his body began to relax and I moved
from out of his embrace. I opened the drawer of the nightstand on my side of
the bed and found a notepad. It had the name of an unfamiliar hotel and Las
Vegas, Nevada under its name.
What the hell? We're in Las Vegas? How did we get here? What
is going on? My brain’s still foggy. Last night's activities were a blur. I
found my cellphone in the same drawer I found the notepad. I entered the
passcode and search for clues on how I got into this clusterfuck. Opening my
photos album, there were pictures of Nico and I standing outside a hotel. There
were some of us inside a casino. We were gambling at slot machines, as well as
at blackjack and roulette tables. I continued to scroll through the multitude
of photos.
